HALF TIME: Town 0 Shrewsbury 1

By Gary Rose

8:52pm Tuesday 21st February 2012

MATT Richards’ header just before half time has given Shrewsbury a 1-0 lead at Swindon tonight.

Town were far from at their best throughout the half but looked to have done enough to keep scores level at the break

However, Richards was allowed to rise unchallenged to head home from Mark Wright’s corner five minute before half time.

Here are the key moments from the first half:

Five mins: It is a scrappy opening to the game but the first chance, and it is a half chance at best, goes the way of the hosts when Luke Rooney flicks a header from Matt Ritchie’s cross well wide.

14 mins: James Collins drags a shot wide of Wes Foderingham’s goal in Shrewsbury first attack of the game.

36 mins: After a spell of very little happening Shrewsbury have a good chance to take the lead when a flowing, attacking move ends with Mark Wright having clear sight of goal but he sidefoots well over the bar.

40 mins (GOAL, Richards 0-1): The visitors are ahead and, in truth, deservedly so as Matt Richards heads home from Mark Wright’s corner. The goal is Foderingham’s first goal conceded at home in a league game.
