Di Canio charged by FA
2:36pm Friday 27th January 2012
PAOLO Di Canio has been charged with improper conduct by the FA.
The Town boss was sent off by referee Keith Shroud in the 1-0 win over Macclesfield last week.
Di Canio felt he had done nothing wrong and hoped the FA would see sense.
However, he has been charged for second time this month and this time the Italian is likely to appeal.
“Obviously I will be called by the FA to see what is going on. If they ask me if I deny or accept a charge I will say no chance,” said Di Canio yesterday.
“I will defend myself like if I had to defend my life.
“I can’t be accused of doing something incredible like running from the technical area or swearing too much. All I did was jump with waving the arms.
“I will show video as proof. I watched this video when I was watching back the game, as I do with any match, and I saw when Macclesfield had their final sub, their coach and manager was in the middle of my technical area and in front of Fabrizio Piccareta.
“I don’t want to say something straight away wrong to me, but why was nothing said to them?
“He didn’t receive one word from the fourth official, so we will show all these things and see what is going on.”
Di Canio has until Monday to respond.
