Oxford game could still be shown at the County Ground - but not on a big screen
10:17am Friday 27th January 2012
SWINDON Town’s derby day clash at rivals Oxford United could still be televised at the County Ground despite the club ruling out the possibility of erecting a big screen to show the crunch game.
Town had been exploring the possibility of beaming the game back to a big screen after Robins’ supporters were allocated only 1,252 tickets for the match, with the club deciding not to put in place a temporary fourth stand after stating it would not be financially viable.
With a large number of fans set to be disappointed as they miss out on tickets, the club now intends to make a live feed available in a number of lounges and suites in The Arkell’s Stand.
The club is currently in discussion with the relevant parties with a view to televising the game, and will make detail available once they are confirmed.
